What does
Baraka mean?
Ba = Moon Ra = Sun Ka = Life force Welcome to our brand new Baraka website and thank you for
taking the time to find us! We would like to say a HUGE THANKYOU to all our fantastic
& loyal customers, The name Baraka also means Blessings in Arabic, Julie Ann was guided by her father in Spirt to embrace this name. Godfrey Hewit Horrox died on Boxing Day 2004, the same time as the Tsunami. He was cremated at the Alhambra crematorium in Granada Spain just behind The Alhambra Palace. The Palace is an impressive building, set on a hill high it dominates the city, simple and rustic from the outside, yet the inside is breathtakingly beautiful. Many room are wall to wall white marblecovered with arabic devotional prayers to God. A perfect place for my father 'God- Free' to come to rest! At The Alhambra, East meets West in a strikingly beautiful setting, Roman Catholicism has merged with Muslim culture for 100's of years. Locals still play out a very tongue in cheek autumnal annual mock battle between The Moors and the Christians. I visited the palace for the first time a few days after my father's death. As I entering the Baraka room, my father’s spirit of entered my body, I began to shiver with energy and light, and he told I should call my business Baraka. It didn’t make much sense at the time when I was only making
jewellery, but when two years later I was guided to open a shop in
Boscombe it all fell into plac. It feels so right when there is
so much negativity projected onto the Muslims, by the west, to send
blessings to them instead, every time we say, ‘Baraka’.
Very sadly Godfrey died suddenly at 64, just before he moved into his dream home in Spain, which he had worked his whole life for. What a beautiful gift he left in his legacy the reminder for us all to LIVE YOUR DREAMS NOW. Why did Baraka close? You can't argue with God! When you get the calling and you know it's time for a change, then you simply have to go with the flow! That's exactly what happened to me in 2007 when I opened Baraka and the same when I knew it was time to move on in 2010. I spent four fantastic years trading in Sea Road. I made new friends, met many teachers and grew loads.
Julie-Ann's
shop, Baraka, in Sea Road,
Boscombe. The next step for Baraka From October 2010, Julie Ann will be available to support breathwork clients at her home in Burton on the edge of the New Forest. Julie Ann qualified as a Rebirther in 2003, but the timing was not right to become a full-time Breathwork Practitioner and group facilitator. Some more work had to be done until I was ready to step more fully into the power of who I truly am. Rebirthing is a Loving and supportive process of deep healing, guided by the gentle power of conscious breath, perfect for people who are committed to health and healing, and who wish to affect positive change in their lives. Julie Ann also facilitates a monthly Breathing Circle, which is a space to connect to people who are inspired by breathwork and offers introductory information about the process and the chance to experience conscious breathing. For the recommended minimum donation of 10.00. |
